Cappagh is a family owned contracting company, based in South-West London, and has over 500  knowledgeable and experienced staff.  Cappagh provides a range of services, including waste management, transport and plant services and utility maintenance.

With over 40 years of experience in repairing, renovating, maintaining and installing utility pipeline infrastructure, Cappagh have built many long-term, multi-million pound relationships and is trusted throughout the industry. Such success is partially down to the use of advanced tools to locate buried utilities. Cappagh Director, Matt Guest, comments, “We’ve been using Radiodetection equipment for many years as it provides our teams with the latest means of detecting underground services prior to carrying out excavation work.”

Matt Guest continues: “We pride ourselves on offering a flawless service and that’s what our customers expect. To achieve this, we’ve taken advantage of Radiodetection’s latest cable avoidance tool (CAT) offering, which allows the CAT to be paired with a mobile phone, to transmit real-time management information from the field, back to the office, for live analysis.”

C.A.T Manager Online, from Radiodetection, is a unique cloud-based, remote management tool that enables near real-time usage monitoring of gC.A.T4 fleets. To utilise the latest technology, Cappagh invested in 162 gC.A.T4 units, replacing their existing eC.A.T4  units. Radiodetection’s gC.A.T4 range seamlessly allows the transfer of data with its Bluetooth connectivity.

The use of Radiodection equipment has allowed Cappagh to reduce utility damage to record lows, and the recent introduction of the new units will enable Cappagh to build on this success. “Over the past few years we have seen record lows in utility damage, and that’s down to our outstanding team, their knowledge, and the equipment they use” says Matt Guest.

John Midlen, UK Sales Engineer at Radiodetection, adds: “We’ve worked with Cappagh for many years, and value their investment and trust in our products. The operatives at Cappagh hold a lot of knowledge on using the relevant equipment prior to digging. That – paired with the use of our technology – has helped Cappagh drive utility damage to a record low. We trust our relationship with Cappagh will continue to grow and they will see the benefits of adopting the C.A.T Manager Online software and gC.A.T4 units."
